UPSC IES 2020: Engineering Services Examination

UPSC IES Application Form 2020- The Union Public Service Commission will release the notification for UPSC IES 2020 on 25 September 2019 on the official website. From the same day, you can fill the application form for the Indian Engineering Service. Every year UPSC Engineering Pass invites candidates to apply for Engineering Services Examination through notification. IES is also known as ESE.

If you want to work in the post of Group A and B Engineer in various Ministries of the Indian Government, then you may not have a second chance than UPSC IES. This year the application forms for UPSC IES 2020 will be available on upsconline.nic.in on 25 September 2019.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the UPSC Engineering Services Examination by 15 October 2019. Let us tell you that UPSC ESE Pre-Exam will be held on 5 January 2020 and ESE Main Exam will be held on 28 June 2020.

UPSC IES Eligibility Criteria 2020 (UPSC IES Eligibility Criteria)

The Union Public Service Commission has set certain criteria for filling the Engineering Services Examination application, if you meet those criteria then you can apply. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

Citizenship

  • Applicants should be Indian citizens. Or
  • Should be a subject of Nepal or
  • Should be a subject of Bhutan or
  • Must be a Tibetan refugee.

Age Range

  • The application has completed at least 21 years of age and should not be more than 30 years of age.
  • Applicant must be born before 2 January 1990 and not later than 1 January 1999.
  • Some relaxation in upper age limit will be given to reserved category applicants.
    • For SC / ST candidates: 5 years
    • For OBC candidates: 3 years
    • For Ex-Serviceman: 5 years
    • For handicapped candidates: 10 years

Educational Qualification

  • The applicant should have an engineering degree from any recognized university/board.

UPSC IES Application Form 2020 (UPSC IES Application Form)

If you fulfill all the above eligibility criteria, then you can fill the application form for UPAC Engineering Service Examination. The UPSC ESE Application Form will be available on UPSC Online’s official website upsconline.nic.in from 25 September 2020.

Do not wait for the last date to apply. Sometimes the website gets closed at the last minute due to high traffic, so to avoid such situation, fill the application form before 15 October 2019. To complete the form, you will also have to submit the application fee.

The UPSC IES application form will be available at upsconline.nic.in .

Application fee

  • For General and OBC category: Rs. 200 / –
  • For SC / ST, PWD, Female candidates: Free
  • The application fee can also be paid through online net banking or by depositing cash in SBI.

How to apply?

  1. First of all, you have to go to UPSC official website upsconline.nic.in.
  2. Click “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC” on the homepage.
  3. Now, you can see the link “Engineering Service Examination 2020” on this page.
  4. First of all, you have to register for UPSC ESE 2019.
  5. If you are previously registered, click on the login link and log in.
  6. Fill in your details for registration and submit.
  7. An application number will appear in front of you.
  8. Keep this application number for login and other purposes.
  9. Log in and pay the application fee, upload the documents.
  10. Apply and keep it safe for future use.

UPSE IES Admit Card 2020 (UPSC IES Admit Card)

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct pre-examination for IES on 5 January 2020. Hence UPSC will release the admit card for the exam in December 2019. UPSC IES Admit Card will be issued only for those candidates who have submitted their application form and application fee on time.

The UPSC IES Main Exam will be held on 28 June 2020. The admit card for the main exam will be available only to those candidates who have passed the pre-exam.

You have to log in and download your admit card at upsconline.nic.in.

You will also have to bring your photo identity card along with your admit card to the examination center. The identity card can be any of the following:

  1. Voter ID
  2. Pan Card
  3. Aadhar Card
  4. driving license
  5. Passport
  6. Employer ID
  7. Other government-issued photo ID

UPSC IES Selection Process 2020 (UPSC IES Selection Process)

The candidates for Indian Engineering Services are selected in three stages.

  1. Prelim exam
  2. Main exam
  3. Personality test

UPSC IES Prelims Exam

In UPSC Prelims Exam 500 questions are asked of 500 questions. The questions in the exam are of objective type. It consists of two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. 200 marks are obtained for Paper 1 and 300 marks for Paper 2. 1/3 mark is deducted for the wrong answer. For Paper 1 you are given 2 hours and for Paper 2 you are given 3 hours.

UPSC IES Main Exam

The candidates who pass the preliminary examination are called for the main examination. The IES Main Examination also consists of two papers. Each paper consists of 300 questions of 300 marks each. Candidates have 3 hours for each paper. Like the Prelim Exam, it also has a negative marking of 1/3 marks.

Personality test

Any candidate who has passed both the stages first will be called for personality test. The personality test will be of 200 marks.

The final rank is made by combining the marks of the three stages, based on which the candidates are selected.

UPSC IES Result 2020 (UPSC IES Result)

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the Engineering Service Examination Examination on 5 January 2020. Only after this, the Union Public Service Commission will release the result of the preliminary examination. You will get the result only on the official website of the commission.

The result will be released in PDF format. Candidates who have passed the pre-examination will give the main examination, whose results will also be released by the association on its site. Then the selected candidate personality test will be included.

After the three phases, the Union Public Service Commission will release the final result. In which the name and roll number of the selected candidates are given.
