Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination, 2019 has been conducted by the Union Public service commission (UPSC). Applicants are invited for this post. This post is very important for candidates joining the Union Public Service Commission Recruitment 2019.   • Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee(1st January 1962 ).
  • For Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) – Candidate must be completed 21 years of age.
  • For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Groundwater Board – Candidate must be completed 21 years of age.
  • Candidate must have a Master’s degree.

UPSC Geologist, Geo-Scientist Vacancy Details 2019

  • There is a total of two categories in UPSC Geologist & Geo-Scientist.
  • Total number of vacancy is (Category I + Category II) = 106

Category I : (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines)

UPSC Geologist, Geo-Scientist Eligibility Criteria 2019

Union Public Service Commission has set some eligibility norms that candidates must complete. The eligibility criteria are given below:

Geologist, Geo-Scientist 2019 Nationality

Candidates who wish to apply for UPSC Geologist, Geo-Scientist must be

  • A citizen of India. Or
  • A subject of Nepal. Or
  • A subject of Bhutan. Or
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. Or
  • An Indian origin person who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Geologist, Geo-Scientist Age Limit

Category I : (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines)

  1. For Geologist and geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) – Candidate must have completed 21 years of age and not exceed than 32 years of age on 1st January 2019 of the examination year.
  2. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1987 and not later than 1st January 1998.

Category II : (Post in the central ground water board, Ministry of water resources)

  1. For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Groundwater Board, Ministry of Water Resources – Candidate must have completed 21 years of age and not exceed than 35 years of age on 1st January 2019 of the examination year.
  2. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1984 and not later than 1st January 1998.
